Electrolysis is an alternative method of permanent hair removal for a client 1) who is not a candidate for laser hair removal, 2) who desires to permanently shape eyebrows, or 3) who wants to complete the laser hair removal process of removing gray hair.

• The electrologist can remove only presently growing hair.
  
• There may be numerous hair growth cycles for each hair. There are 300-500 hair follicles per square inch of skin, and each hair has numerous growth cycles. These hair follicles are not all simultaneously active, and many become active under certain conditions.
• When hair follicles are successfully treated, the hair problem is eliminated.
  
• The length and number of treatments varies for each individual. This is due to factors such as the type of hair, the cause of the growth and the extent of the problem area.
